The National Identification Number (NIN) is a unique 11-digit number issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to Nigerian citizens and legal residents. It serves as your official identity number and is required for many government and financial services in Nigeria, including opening bank accounts, obtaining passports, and accessing other essential services.

You should register for a NIN if you are:

• A Nigerian citizen living in the diaspora who has not yet enrolled.
• A Nigerian who needs to update or verify their identity records.
• Anyone looking to access banking or government services that require a valid NIN.

For NIN Registration

Please bring:

• International Passport (data page)
• NPC Certificate (Birth Certificate or Birth Attestation)

If you don't have an NPC Certificate, our team can guide you through obtaining a Birth Attestation.

For Opening a FirstBank Diaspora Account

Please bring:

• Valid ID (International Passport, Driver's Licence, National ID Card, or Notarised Foreign Passport)
• BVN (if available)
• NIN (if available)
• One passport photograph
• Proof of address (Notarised Utility Bill)
